Some of the structures of the former Ukmergė courthouse in 2012-2013 are. when a large amount of mercury was found and the building was declared hazardous to human health and unfit for use, it was decided to design and build a new courthouse on a plot of land at the intersection of Deltuvos and A. Smetonos Streets. The Project Development Office was chosen to design the building.

The building is designed as a connecting element of the corner of the block between two development morphotypes. The two-storey part of the building complements the perimeter pattern of the Deltuva street. The one-storey part of the building with the volumes of the meeting rooms is oriented parallel to A. Smetona Street and is close to the scale of the farmstead development of this street.

The building plot is located next to a historicist-style brick building on Deltuvos street. 19. The façade decoration and rhythm of the courthouse is designed to reflect the architecture of the adjacent heritage building. The combination of clinker brickwork and metal sheeting gives the courthouse a monumental appearance.

The exterior of the building also reflects the internal functional structure of the building. The volume of the building distinguishes between meeting rooms and clearly separates the administrative and public parts of the building.
